New York City based Artleby Inc. was created in 2005 to provide artists, galleries and arts organizations with an economical means of promoting their work and to provide the public with access to a wide range of artists and artisans who might otherwise remain unknown to them.

The programming of the site was done by CallComputeComm Systems, which has had extensive experience in the creation and management of large collections of data and digital images, notably the art historical collection of the Visual Resources Dept. of the City University of New York’s Graduate Center.
